Thermal Water…

What’s the latest trend in skin care? Serums, lotions and sprays that contain water straight from thermal springs. It’s nutrient-enriched H20 that actually starts as tiny droplets of rain.
“And what happens is that they run off and they basically spend 30, 40 years underground in the earth, picking up many trace minerals and elements as they go,” said Dr. Ranella Hirsch, dermatologist.
When the water comes back to the surface, it’s loaded with things like magnesium, calcium, iron and zinc. Hirsch says we’re just catching on to what Europeans have known for decades.
“That thermal waters have tremendous benefit in treating the skin,” she explained.
In fact, studies have shown that thermal water can help treat everything from sunburns and dry skin to more serious conditions like psoriasis, eczema and rosacea.
“Also, by restoring the missing minerals and the different elements in the skin, you help to maintain the barrier or protective function that the skin has,” said Dr. Hirsch.
There are several brands like Evian, Vichy and La Roche Posay. Which is right for you? Dr. Hirsch says take a look at the elements listed on the back.
“The La Roche Posay line, for example, is very rich in selenium, which is very helpful as an anti-inflammatory agent. The Vichy range of products, very high in sodium bicarbonate, is really soothing to the skin. The Evian line is also rich in bicarbonates” said Hirsch. “This is really like Gatorade for your skin.”
Thermal water products cost anywhere from $10-$30. Most of them are available at your local drug store or on the internet.

I think Katharine is so beautiful…someone should give her a cosmetic contract.

Here’s my tail…

Back in December 06 my MAC broke down. I returned it to COMP USA to be repaired under warranty. After a month went by they told me they couldn’t fix it and to send it back to MAC. MAC ended up sending me a brand new upgraded computer, but that took them another month. When I then attempted to open my MakeupBeat account I couldn’t remember my Username. So I contacted the guy that I hired to set up the site originally, to ask for the Username he created. He said he would email it to me. His follow up email stated that he accidentally erased my entire site, but that he could retrieve it. He never did. After many many emails and telephone messages not being returned I finally got a hold of him last weekend. He told me he would restore the site over the weekend. NOT! I managed to catch him this past Wednesday, and after me freaking out over the phone, he finally fixed things. Can you believe this? Almost five months later. And he was upset that I was angry. Amazing! So dear readers (if there are any left) that’s my tail of woe and I’m so sorry to have deserted you.
A ROSE IS A ROSE

It has been so long since I last posted, for a myriad of reasons, that I’m not sure what to do now. Should I even try to resume my beauty blogging? If any of my readers are still out there, I could use some encouragement. It’s been so long I doubt you exist.
* Thank you Diane for the rainbow rose photo.
