Happy Kwanzaa…
“Kwanzaa is a celebration of family, community and culture.”
Swahili for “First Fruits”, also spelled Kwanza. An adaptation of an African harvest festival, celebrated from December 26 to January 1. It was created in 1966 by Maulana Karenga, a professor of black studies at California State University in Long Beach, who added the additional “a” to distinguish it from the African festival.
Liya Kebede…

“Liya Kebede is a supermodel born and raised in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. As a young woman, Liya did modeling in her native Ethiopia. She has remarked that the modeling industry in that country is quite different from the European catwalks from which she is now seen ubiquitously. In Ethiopia, she had to provide her own shoes for each runway show.
While in school at the French Lycee, a film director spotted Liya and introduced her to a French modeling agent.
After completing her studies, she moved to France to pursue work through a local Parisian agency. After a short time, Liya re-located to NYC where she currently resides with her husband Kassy Kebede and their son Suhol.
She has been seen on the covers of American, French, Italian, Japanese and Spanish Vogue, V, Flair, i-D and Time magazine’s Style & Design. Liya has also been featured in ad campaigns including Gap, YSL, Emanuel Ungaro, Tommy Hilfiger, Dolce & Gabbana, Escada and Louis Vuitton. Plus she has a contract as the face of Estee Lauder cosmetics.”

Forbes magazine ranks her among the highest-paid supermodels in the world.
In Aug 2007 Liya created a line of children’s clothing called Lemlem (meaning “to bloom” in Amharic), with pieces that are handmade in Ethiopia and combine traditional weaving and embroidery techniques with modern silhouettes.

Her most important project has to be The Liya Kebede Foundation created to reduce maternal newborn and child mortality and to improve the health and well being of mothers and children around the world.
Which makes Liya truly beautiful inside and out.

Bundchen By Dolce & Gabbana…

Supermodel Gisele Bundchen can add fashion designer to her resume – she’s designing a range of clothes for Dolce & Gabbana. The Brazilian beauty is currently the face of the label’s perfume, The One, and, although she has turned down offers of designing in the past, she has reportedly been encouraged by close pals Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana to try her hand at the new line. The self-titled Bundchen By Dolce & Gabbana range will be launched this Spring. Mo money – Mo money! source
